A tree fell on my house. What should I do first?

Can I cut the fallen tree myself?
Please don’t. Storm-damaged trunks and limbs are often bent under tension and can spring back or roll without warning, even for experienced chainsaw users. Let a trained crew with the right equipment handle it.
What if the tree is touching a power line?
Stay far away and call 911 and your power company. Only the utility can make the line safe. Once they do, we remove the tree and clean up.
Will my homeowner’s insurance cover it?
Often, when a tree damages your house or another covered structure — but every policy is different, so call your insurance company. Take photos before anything is moved, and we’ll give you a written estimate and invoice you can send with your claim.
